Nasir Farooq trading as NF Custom Creations is the controller for personal information used to operate our business, respond to enquiries and fulfil personalised orders. Shopify hosts our website and also processes information as described below.

Information we collect

Depending on how you use the store, we collect your name, contact details, delivery and billing address, enquiries, order and payment transaction details, account details and correspondence. For personalisation, we also receive names, initials, messages, photographs, logos, artwork, design instructions and proofs you supply. Payment providers handle payment-card information; do not send card details through our enquiry form or by email.

Shopify and connected services collect device and usage information, such as IP address, browser details and website interactions, using cookies and similar technologies.

How and why we use information

We use information to answer your enquiry, agree a design, produce your gift, process payment, deliver orders, provide support and handle returns. Our lawful basis is taking steps you request before entering a contract and performing that contract. We use information to comply with legal obligations such as financial records, and rely on legitimate interests in keeping the business and website secure, preventing fraud and resolving disputes, balanced against your rights.

Where required, we rely on consent for marketing and non-essential cookies. A gift enquiry does not subscribe you to marketing. You can withdraw consent or unsubscribe; necessary order and service messages may still be sent. Use Cookie preferences in the website footer to review your choices.

Photographs and personalised designs

Only submit material you are entitled to share for the requested purpose. Get appropriate permission for images and information relating to other people, particularly children. Our store is intended for adults placing orders; adults may supply children's images with appropriate authority. Avoid unnecessary sensitive information and contact us before supplying material that reveals sensitive personal information so we can assess lawful processing.

We use submitted material to assess, design, produce and fulfil your order and provide related support. We do not publish your photographs, personalisation details or finished gifts in advertising or on social media without separate permission.

We share necessary information with Shopify and service providers helping with hosting, payment, design storage, delivery, support, security and business administration. We may disclose information to meet legal obligations or protect legal rights. Marketing and advertising providers may process information where the relevant permissions and lawful basis apply.

Shopify processes information to provide and improve its platform. Some enhanced Shopify features may combine information about interactions with our store, other merchants and Shopify for purposes such as personalisation and advertising. Service providers may process data outside the UK. Where required, appropriate safeguards apply, such as an adequacy decision or approved contractual safeguards for international transfers.

Retention and security

We keep enquiries and design files while needed to complete the enquiry or order, provide related support or resolve a dispute. Order and financial records may be kept longer for legal and accounting obligations. Retention depends on these purposes and applicable legal requirements; personalisation files are not kept indefinitely merely for possible future marketing. Ask us about a particular file or request deletion and we will explain any lawful reason to retain it.

We take reasonable measures to protect information and limit access to those who need it. No internet system is completely secure. Please do not send unnecessary confidential information.

Your rights and complaints

Depending on the circumstances and lawful basis, UK data protection law gives rights to access and correct information, request erasure or restriction, object to processing and obtain data portability. You can withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. We may need to verify your identity and will respond within the applicable legal time limit.
